はじめまして。
私のブログへようこそ。


皆さんは「FIRA60」という言葉をご存知ですか。
知らないという方、ご安心ください。
実は、私もつい1ヶ月ほど前まで知りませんでした。


では、「FIRE」という言葉はご存知でしょうか。
こちらは最近広く使われるようになってきたので、聞いたことがある方も多いのでないかと思います。
「FIRE」とは「Financial Independence, Retire Early」の頭文字を取ってできた言葉で、
「Financial Independence」は経済的自立、「Retire Early」は早期退職の意味になります。
ここで言う「経済的自立」とは労働に依らないで生計が立てられる状態を指しており、つまり「FIRE」とは仕事を早期退職して不労所得で暮らすライフスタイルのことを言います。


一方、「FIRA60」は「Financial Independence, Retire Around 60」の略で、おそらく「FIRE」をもじってできた造語だと思います。
「FIRE」との違いは「Retire Around 60」の部分で、早期退職ではなく60歳前後で退職することを目指すわけです。
60歳前後というのは日本の一般的な定年年齢である60歳を念頭に置いたものと思われるので、定年退職とほぼ同義と解釈してもよいと思います。


そして、私はこの「FIRA60」という言葉をまだ知らなかった6～7年前から、定年で仕事を辞めて自由な時間を手に入れたいと思っていました。
しかし、60歳で辞めるにはクリアすべき様々な課題があり、決して容易ではないことがわかりました。
このブログでは、悲願の実現のために日々思い悩みながら過ごす私が考えていることを気ままに綴っていきたいと思います。
FIRA60についてだけではなく、そこにつながる私の人生観やお金の話、家族の話（特に子どもの教育について）などにも触れていければと思っています。


ただし、ブログに割ける時間が限られているので、書ける時に書くという極めてマイペースなブログになることをご容赦ください。
また、私の個人的な趣味で投稿に英訳をつけたいと思います。
これは私の英語のスキルアップを目的としたもので、必ずしも正しい英文かどうかは保証できませんので、この点もご了承ください。誤りなどあればご指導、ご指摘いただければ幸いです。

First of all, do you know the word “FIRA60“?
Even if you don’t know that, don’t mind it.
To be honest, I didn’t know this word either until a month ago.


Then, do you know the word “FIRE movement“?
You may have heard this term as it has become common in Japan lately.
”FIRE” for “FIRE movement” consists of the initial letters of “Financial Independence, Retire Early.”
It means a lifestyle based on passive income with early retirement.


Now, coming back to “FIRA60,” it stands for “Financial Independence, Retire Around 60,”
which would be a coined word in Japan derived from “FIRE movement.”
“Retire Early” for “FIRE” is just replaced with “Retire Around 60,” that is, aiming for financial independence retiring around the age of 60 rather than retiring early.
Why is the target retirement age 60?
Because 60 is the commonest mandatory retirement age in Japanese companies which they stipulate in the Rules of Employment.
So, the meaning of “FIRA60” is almost equivalent to achieving financial independence at mandatory retirement age in Japan.


Starting 6 or 7 years ago, when I didn’t know the word ” FIRA60,” I always want to retire at the age of 60 and to get more time for myself.
However, I found that I had many issues to be addressed for fulfilling my wish.
In this blog, I will casually write what comes to mind in pondering my future life.
I will also mention the other topics such as my values and philosophy of life, money, family (especially children’s education), associated with “FIRA60.”


I hope for your understanding that I would not update this blog so frequently or periodically.
And I will add English translation to my posts for personal interest.
The purpose is just to improve my English skills, so please note that its accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
